Se7En Bar&grill
If you're ever wandering through Stockport and craving a dining experience that blends vibrant Middle Eastern flavors with a laid-back British bar vibe, Se7En Bar&grill on St Petersgate is exactly where you want to land. It's not just a place to eat-it’s a full-on vibe, the kind of spot where grilled meats meet cocktails, and where you’re just as likely to hear live music as the sound of a sizzling seabass coming out of the kitchen.
The name Se7En Bar&grill might have a modern, edgy twist to it, but the food here is rich in tradition and bold in character. One of the standout dishes, and a personal favorite, is the Kabbideh with Saffron Rice and Salad. You can tell from the first bite that this dish has roots-it's seasoned with care, perfectly grilled, and paired with fluffy saffron rice that’s both fragrant and filling. It hits that comfort food spot, while still managing to feel like something you’d travel for.
And speaking of travel, their Taco Ghormeh Sabzi is one of those mash-ups that shouldn’t work-but totally does. Taking a beloved Persian herb stew and turning it into taco filling is bold, but Se7En pulls it off with flair. It's herbaceous, slightly tangy, and all wrapped in a soft tortilla that makes every bite a little surprise.
If you're a seafood fan, don’t sleep on the Grilled Seabass or the Guacamole Prawns. The seabass is flaky, fresh, and expertly charred, while the prawns are a real standout-juicy, vibrant, with that cool guacamole balancing the heat. I’ve also had the Smoked Aubergine with Chopped Egg, which comes across like a Persian-inspired baba ghanoush with extra richness. If you’re after something different, that dish will definitely leave a mark.
But hey, not everything has to be exotic. Se7En Bar&grill gets the classics right too. Their Pepperoni Pizza is crispy, cheesy, and perfectly greasy in that satisfying way. The Buffalo Wings are tangy and fiery, ideal with a pint of cold cider or one of their signature cocktails. There’s enough range here to keep everyone at the table happy-from adventurous eaters to those who just want a solid steak and fries.
Drinks? Oh yes. This is one of the few places in Stockport where the bar menu actually competes with the food. From chilled beer and smooth wines to handcrafted cocktails, there’s plenty to sip on, whether you're here for dinner or just passing by for drinks and live music. Their espresso-based drinks are surprisingly legit too-I had a great coffee here after my meal and it rivaled any specialty cafe.
What also sets Se7En Bar&grill apart is the ambiance. It’s casual without being sloppy, stylish without trying too hard. There's outdoor seating if the weather’s decent, and inside, the vibe is elevated by live performances that happen regularly. Whether it’s soft acoustic sets during lunch or something a little more upbeat in the evening, the music adds a real layer to the experience. Plus, there’s dancing, and yes-it gets lively on the weekends. It's one of those rare places where you could start with dinner and end up dancing to a live DJ or band without ever leaving the building.
Accessibility-wise, they've nailed it. With a wheelchair-accessible entrance, seating, toilets, and car park, Se7En really opens the door to everyone. It’s welcoming, well laid-out, and genuinely feels like it’s been designed with the customer in mind. Whether you're dining solo, meeting friends for a mid-week dinner, or heading out for a weekend bite and a few drinks, this place fits.
As for service, it’s warm and relaxed, just like the atmosphere. You can dine in, order takeaway, get delivery, or even opt for no-contact delivery or kerbside pickup. Flexibility is clearly part of their game, which is perfect for anyone juggling a busy schedule or just wanting to enjoy their food at home.
In a town that’s increasingly full of cookie-cutter eateries, Se7En Bar&grill manages to keep things fresh, fun, and just a little bit different. Whether you're coming for the Lamb Shank with Rice and Salad, staying for the live music, or just dropping by for a quick bite and a cold drink, this spot gives you way more than your typical bar and grill. It's flavorful, it's memorable, and honestly-it just works.

Well worth a try!! - A lovely, unexpected, authentic Persian menu! Really tasty, freshly prepared. Very welcoming service. Reasonably priced. Really recommend the garlic yoghurt, with huge dipping flat-bread! The chicken skewer, and the lamb and lentil stew were both very fresh, and yummy! We'll definitely go again sometime... soon, hopefully...! (Strange to have a sachet of salad cream on the plate! and the tables were a bit "rough and ready", but that is because the restaurant is not as formal/glitzy as maybe it looks from the outside!!)
During our first visit to this restaurant with friends, the staff saw that we were a group of six and kindly helped us move to a larger table. Howeverg, I didn’t want to sit next to the toilet,, so I asked if we could move to another table. The staff was very accommodating and patiently helped solve this issue, even though I felt bad for asking to move tables twice. For appetizers, we ordered slow-cooked lamb tongue, prawn and avocado salad, sweet potato friesg, and chicken wings. We were all amazed, especially by how beautifully the prawns were presentedj and how delicious they tasted. For the main course, we had two servings of lamb rack rice, one serving of lamb shank, and an order of skewers. The flavors were light and healthy, which was a delightful surprise.
Our server, was incredible. It was our first time at The se7en ,and he had a vast knowledge of both the food and drinks menu. It helped us choose what we wanted and not over/under ordering food as some items you need to order a side. I've heard it is extremely busy and hard to get a table on evenings and weekends, we were the at lunchtime and it was reasonably quiet, easy to be served and nothing rushed. Food was incredible, Service brilliant and overall very impressed. I would highly recommend trying it out, I hear the afternoon teas are fantastic so I may have to book in again. Thanks Charlena for great service.
Went for lunch with my daughter my the owner was so kind and couldn't do enough for me and my girl, he got us a cake from over the road too that was absolutely delicious! The staff can't do enough for you and the food is amazing too
